My ANZAC snapshot

Dear Mum,

Our grip tightens around the black heart of Gallipoli  , I had seen things that any human being shouldn’t. I saw friends and brothers dying in front of my very eyes. We had to sleep in foxholes praying the enemy won’t slit our throats. War had stolen many lives of innocent men, woman and children. We will fight to our very last breath for the sake of our country. When we take Gallipoli there will be no where for our enemy’s left to hide.

As night approaches bullets still whistle around our surroundings and we hoped that the bullets didn’t have our names on it. For many months we had crawled around mud and dirt like rats and enemy artillery roared down on us, the loud sounds of the artillery explosions made us dizzy. This world has been possessed by war, will the greed of other country who want to takes people’s rights and land ever stop?
